Transcranial direct current stimulation (TDCS)

Transcranial stimulation by direct current has been shown in recent years to be a promising therapy in the treatment of depression, chronic pain, and drug addiction, both alone and in combination with drug therapy. It is very useful for patients with poor response to drugs or people who do not wish to take them (fear to secondary effects).

This therapy is done by applying a small current that does not produce pain or discomfort, without the need for sedation and is completed in 20 minutes. Electrodes are placed on the skin of the head, in different points according to the area to be stimulated.
